Becoming Minimalist E-Course

Creating space in my home was not a process.

I did it in an extreme way.

However, I did it 4 times….

I didn’t really know about minimalism at the time.

The first time I ditched everything it was because I left a dangerous situation and got divorced.

I enjoyed the freedom. But I thought I “should” rebuild. So I gathered stuff.

(Sidenote: Never do what others think you “should”)

Then I moved into an apartment in a city. It was coming along beautifully. But a glitch in a divorce (not mine) got me court ordered to leave the property with only my 2 week old and what I could collect in 30 minutes.

That was quick decluttering!

Court case resolved, my husband and I blended families and created another apartment in a different city.

More clutter, more money and time spent, less connection. I didn’t want another divorce!

So we moved into an RV with all the kids and hit the road.

It took a big box truck to haul away everything we got rid of.

Even the kids jumped on board, and happily downsized to owning just 3 bins of “stuff”.

But we were happier than ever!

The oldest kids aged out and we did it once more…

From RV to van living, another extreme declutter.

I have never been happier or had more time.

I don’t own many things (everything for a family of three can fit in a minivan when necessary.)

But I don’t have a rent payment, don’t need the current fashions.

I found freedom. I was able to discover my magic.

I want this freedom for you.

That’s why I created this guide.

Let your inner magic be released.

It can’t happen to the fullest until your stress has been cut way down!

We’ll start with the physical environment.

If you are serious about living a more simplistic, clutter-free life, then this in-depth guide will help you achieve your goals.

You’ll build up the comfort level of getting rid of things, journal thru your feelings connected to physical possessions, and get fully organized in your home.

We’ll also cover relationship clutter, schedule decluttering, and digital decluttering!

(All of which I’ve implemented as we traveled, and in my work as a productivity analyst for small businesses!)

Your life is going to be so free!

Follow the links below-

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to dramatically improve your life thru intentional tidying.

It really sucks to “try” a little everyday and not see results.

Or tidy and get it perfect only to turn around and it’s like you only imagined it was clean.

Decluttering doesn’t just make space but improves spirit!

This challenge will take you thru 3 days of dramatic decluttering,

1 day of life changing organization,

and then we’ll spend 3 days exploring how your possessions can make you happy and add magik to your life.

We’ll have fun cooking and cleaning….yep! I mean it!

7 Day Challenge

Before we dive into the clutter you can get your feet wet with the seven day challenge if it makes it easier.

It will walk you thru 3 days of decluttering a little, and introduce you to how owning less can create space for you to use everything intentionally.

It will highlight how much this method could truly change your life.

When you’re done with that, we’ll begin.

Facing The Resistance

Write down fears or resistance you’re feeling.

Write down 4 facts to prove them wrong.

And here we go!

Supplies

  • Garbage bags

  • Printed checklist

  • Printed tax deduction sheet

  • Accountability partner

  • Timer

Tips

  • Have an accountability partner

  • Do this when the kids aren’t home

  • Do it all in one day

  • Time yourself, set the timer for one hour and have that room emptied before it goes off

  • Call a donation truck such as Goodwill to come pick up your items. They do it for free.

Method

  1. Take everything out of closets, drawers, cupboards, storage areas. Put it in middle of floor.

  2. Set your timer for one hour. Race the clock!

  3. Use the Only Things You Need checklist and retrieve the essentials.

  4. Have your accountability partner tally items on the tax deduction sheet.

  5. If you haven’t yet, remove closet doors. If you own your home, get rid of them. If you rent, store them out of the way.

  6. Bag up everything that’s left, including all commercial storage items. Hold anything that catches your attention/you feel resistance to putting in the bag, and ask yourself a few questions like “Does this spark joy in my life? Does this add value to my life? Is this something I can’t live without?”

  7. If it has an emotional attachment or you “need” it put it in a pile on the wall. Keep in mind, in the next section we will separate this into 3 sections (use everyday, like to have, and mementos) and follow procedure to get them organized.

  8. Set bags outside as soon as they are full, the truck will take them away.

  9. Celebrate! You’ve just created a ton of space!

  10. Practice self care – take a bath, go out to dinner, etc.

  11. Move to the organization guide, it’ll help you to deal with the “pile”.
